Sports surfacing services offered by countrywide
Countrywide has over 30 years of experience in the construction and maintenance of sports surfaces. Sports surfacing can vary in material and is flexible enough to fit to any space or size requirements. Whether a “realistic” terrain or firm asphalt, we have an option for you.
Our surfacing team will start with a risk assessment to ensure the job can be completed to a high standard. By analysing the area beforehand, we can give you the most informed advice so you can be sure that you’re making the right decision.
Types of sports surfacing
We will always begin by assessing the area we will be working with, but before we start, it’s important for you know the different types of surfaces we work with. There are 3 sports surfaces that we can install, each with their own strengths for your space:
- Asphalt: Asphalt is a solid surface, almost like concrete, that can be used for sports such as basketball or tennis. Regularly seen at schools, asphalt (or tarmac) offers an all-weather answer to sports surfacing.
- Artificial Sports Turf: Think grass without the cutting. This surface acts as an alternative to real grass whilst offering the same level of performance for sports such as football or field hockey. Another advantage for using artificial sports turf is that, if needed, it can be installed indoors, offering you more options in the installation
- Polymeric Surfacing: Polymeric surfaces are almost a hybrid of asphalt and artificial turf taking key benefits from both. Whilst it is a firmer surface like asphalt, polymeric surfaces have more give and as a result, offer less impact to the joints of those using it. Polymeric surfaces are also designed to be low maintenance, so you can rest assured that your installation will last for many years to come. Polymeric surfaces are also porous compared to asphalt, so they are suitable for all weather conditions.
Supporting services
Whilst installation would be our primary focus, we do offer other services to aid you in your sports surface construction. First of which is fencing; depending on your location and needs, Countrywide can install fencing around the desired location to help separate the sports surface and make it it’s very own space. This can be useful for commercial locations such as schools, that typically require a multi-use play area.
Following the construction of the sports surface, Countrywide can help you keep everything in one place as we also offer line marking services. Rather than juggling several contractors, keeping it ‘under one roof’ with us can provide a far more efficient use of your time as you won’t risk losing important messages across multiple companies.
Finally, our team can help you with the maintenance of your sports surface. In the event of any issue that could make your sports surface unsafe, it is important to have a team that understands the surface to provide you with the most efficient repairs, and who better than the team who did the original installation? A different team may not have the same understanding of the area or the surface, which could lead to an inefficient repair or a risk to anyone that needs to use it.
